The first half has definitely been a challenge for one person with a full time job, side business and family to write, record, produce, develop artwork and create videos every Tuesday for 7 consecutive weeks. Over time, that challenge had consumed more of the personal aspects that I envisioned incorporating.

I’m satisfied knowing that I set out to do something creative and artistically difficult but I’m feeling the remaining tracks need something more personal than just a challenge.

Tracks 09-16 will have some updates as it moves forward tonight with part 2 of OKTD:

• No planned weekly release dates or days (1 track per month / min)

YouTube videos will no longer have stock footage

• Videos will now incorporate self-captured live HD clips

• H.264 video downloads will now be available through the official LF iTunes Video Podcast (coming soon)

• Full 16 track album, OK To Disconnect, with booklet to be announced after completion

UPDATE 2:30PM

• Unrestricted chat function now added to lastfalling.tv, stalkers rejoice!

• Live recording times and feed links will be announced via Last Falling’s Twitter feed

oktd.lastfalling.com has been updated to reflect the changes

Stay connected,

Last Falling

Last Falling YouTube

In each Last Falling video, you will find a weekly time lapse of the work done for that particular track. Text descriptions will pop up as to what is being worked on so you don’t have to guess or figure out if I really did pick my nose in that one frame or what it was I had to drink.

As always, lastfalling.tv will serve as your live evidence that I am actually developing the track that is going to be released that coming Tuesday. It’s a chance for you to peek in and check out what I’m doing. A fair warning, it’s really boring to watch someone edit tracks but you might catch something rare and exciting like a cat walking across the desk.

The YouTube channel is being utilized for a couple of reasons: one is to allow the full tracks to be available there, another is to give the YouTube community an opportunity to subscribe if they like what they are seeing and hearing. Since additional tracks will be updated weekly starting 01.12.10, subscription based sites like podcasts and rss aggregators are the easiest choice of self-governing freedom for you to like/dislike things for updates. You may like one song and completely think the other is worse than shit on a stick.

There’s a lot of people that are very interested in this project, I intend to make it as entertaining and fun as possible for myself and others out there. I really don’t care if you choose to hate or dislike my creative venture that offers music for free, voicing your negative opinions on the internet is counter-intuitive to any time and typing effort. Continue to fart into that wine glass and for the love of all things smug, keep feeling good about your life decisions.

Broken Windows and Shooting Pains

Download Broken Windows and Shooting Pains on iTunes.

I wrote and recorded a handful of acoustic songs roughly around 2002 and never really knew where I could fit them into a record. I started kicking around the idea of having two music projects; one being a band and the other my acoustic songs. I wrote these 13 songs with a solo project in mind but eventually held onto them because I didn’t want to detract from the energy I was putting into Last Falling at the time.

I always envisioned Last Falling being the band name of a few like-minded friends who would share a common bond in maintaining a creative music project – I never thought of it as a selfish professional business or a name for myself. An epiphany and a few realizations later, Last Falling makes sense to me now. My songs are best left to my own success or demise. Open eyes are beautiful.
